Library is truly said as a lifelong learning center. Sri Guru Harkrishan Sr. Sec. Public School G.T Road Amritsar was founded in October 1967. Our school library was established in….. . It has three well stocked libraries one for tiny tot, another for the juniors and the third one for the senior section. It is a marvel and master-piece of architecture in the whole northern region. Senior library has the hub of all latest books which equip the students with lifelong learning skills and develop in them creative thinking and imagination and enable them to come out as an ideas and responsible citizens. The latest variety of books enthuse the young minds of pupil to unfold their self and discover their potential. It caters to the need of young minds and encourage independent learning by promoting and supporting the development of all aspects. It not only promotes positive attitudes towards reading and learning but also provides right information to the right users at the right time in the right form.

Library Resources:
1. To provide a comprehensive and well balanced range of materials and information sources to support the curriculum.
2. To provide a range of services to the users so as to cater their different needs.
3. To work as a filter and quality instrument to provide relevant and sufficient material to fulfill the needs of brilliant minds and helps them in career counseling.
4. To provide up to date material to encourage innovation in students. it is the need of the hour to stimulate and guide the students to inculcate reading habit and develop analytical and critical thinking while spending more and more hours in library to make it eve of the best learning center and hub of distinguished books.


Library Environment:
1. To ensure that the library is accessible to all.
2. To maintain an attractive and stimulating environment that is appropriate for study and promotes an interest in reading.
3. To ensure that furniture, fittings and workstations are appropriate for storing and displaying a range of resources and reflect the board’s health and safety policy.
